OSHA publishes its top 10 citations in 2016

OSHA has published its annual Top 10 citations for fiscal year 2016. Despite the laws that make employers responsible for providing safe and healthful workplaces for their workers, three million are injured every year while 4,500 are killed.

“Tackling the most common hazards is a good place to start saving workers’ lives and limbs,” according to the Department of Labor blog. It cites the top ten hazards as
• Fall protection
• Hazard communication
• Scaffolds
• Respiratory protection
• Lockout/tagout
• Powered industrial trucks
• Ladders
• Machine guarding
• Electrical wiring
• Electrical, general requirements
