Gina Ko is an attorney in the firm’s Washington practice group and is based in the Portland office. Gina joined Reinisch Wilson Weier PC in August 2018. Her practice focuses on communicating, advising and representing employers in all aspects of workers’ compensation law. Gina is admitted to practice in Washington, Oregon and the Federal District Court of Oregon.
Prior to joining the firm, Gina gained experience in a variety of employment law matters as General Counsel for a hospitality development and management company with properties in Oregon and Washington. From there, Gina transitioned into an advisory and litigation practice as an associate attorney for a boutique Oregon law firm specializing in employment law, OSHA and workers’ compensation defense for self-insured employers.
Born and raised in Oregon, Gina left to complete her undergraduate studies in California, teach English in South Korea and obtain her law degree from The George Washington Law School in Washington, D.C., before making her way back home.
A strong defense is predicated upon a thorough understanding of the facts and applicable laws. A successful defense also requires a balanced approach that considers the individual needs and goals of the client. With this in mind, my approach is to assess each issue or claim with a meticulous attention to detail, timely communicate options to my client, and then work collaboratively with my client to craft a specifically-tailored plan to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Moreover, due to the evolving nature of claims, I prioritize open lines of client communication, which allows me to proactively address any red flags before they become points of contention.
